After researching DC systems for a year, and attending an “Ampmobile” seminar, this 2004 Ford Ranger was purchased, clean title, 90K Miles, $2800.00. Same body style as 2011. Least expensive Ranger I could find in 8 months of searching. Painter’s truck. Well used. Needed TLC.

Truck paint and body work in progress. Truck battery box design in progress. Lesson learned: Interior gutted. Previous owner smoked.

March 2010

Designed, and modeled battery boxes with robust strength and factor of safety. All designed to be “bolted in” with grade 8 bolts (or welded).

Truck was reassembled after paint. Rear battery box with integrated lift was installed.

The 9“ Advanced DC motor was installed with integrated aluminum plate.

August 2010

We made it to the Lake Oswego EV show as an “In progress EV, 50% complete”. Important milestone.

Integrated EV Gauge Dashboard completed with motor over temp light.

December 2010

All 24 dry, SLA batteries were purchased and rear batteries were installed in rear battery box.
